Legally, the Builder / Seller can only pay a commission on the sale of a home to a licensed Real Estate Broker. However, the Real Estate Broker can offer you incentives to secure your business. These incentives can be in the form of contributions to various expenses of the transaction or cash rebates after the closing. It doesn’t cost you any more to use an agent nor does it cost you less if you don’t. Commissions are typically paid by the seller
Builders and other sellers typically cover the cost of the agents’ commission by adding a certain amount into each sale. It’s in the price.

Prior to Closing:

• Review the buyer’s closing statement (HUD-1) prior to the closing of escrow on the home to insure accuracy and compliance with the terms of the contract
